Canada Pension Plan Payment
The Canada Pension Plan (CPP) gives monthly payments to people who have contributed to the plan. There are two main types of CPP benefits: the Retirement Pension and the Disability Benefit.
To get the CPP Retirement Pension, you need to be at least 60 years old and have made at least one contribution to the CPP.
To qualify for the CPP Disability Benefit, you must be under 65, have made enough contributions, and have a long-term disability that makes it hard for you to work. The Disability Benefit is divided into two parts: the post-retirement disability benefit and the regular disability benefit.

CPP Payment Increase
Since 2019, CPP payments have been going up bit by bit. But here’s the thing: The CPP Enhancement only helps those who started contributing in 2019 or later. That means today’s workers are paying a bit more into it. Why? Because down the road, they’ll get bigger benefits and more financial security.
In 2019, changes were made to the CPP, adding two new parts. The first part affects the years from 2019 to 2024, while the second part impacts the period from 2024 to 2025.
