HST Payment Dates 2024
In some provinces of Canada, they have what’s called Harmonized Sales Tax (HST). It’s a single tax that combines the GST (Goods and Services Tax) and PST (Provincial Sales Tax). The government gives HST Credits to people with lower incomes to help reduce the financial impact of this tax.
The HST payments are usually made four times a year: in July, October, January, and April. Each payment is made on the 5th day of these months. If you haven’t received your HST payment on time, wait at least 10 days before getting in touch with the Canada Revenue Agency.

Harmonized Sales Tax Credit 2024
With the recent increase in sales taxes across Canada on many goods and services, life got tougher for citizens. To help ease this burden, the Government started giving tax-free payments every quarter. These payments are meant to offset the higher taxes people have to pay.
The amount you get from this Harmonized Sales Tax Credit varies depending on where you live in Canada, because each province has different provincial sales tax rates. The Canadian Government, along with several provincial governments, decided to simplify the tax system and started giving direct payments to people with lower incomes. This change aims to make things fairer for everyone.
HST Next Payment Due Date 2024
As mentioned earlier, HST payments are made every three months. The most recent payment was on October 5, 2023. If you’re eligible but not receiving HST Credits, you can apply through the My Account service on the Government of Canada’s website.
The next HST payment is due on January 5, 2024. You can find out future payment dates by visiting the official Canadian government website. HST payments for 2022 will continue from July 2023 to June 2024.

Anyone getting benefits needs to tell the CRA if their family size, address, or marital status changes.
How to Apply for HST Credit 2023
In most situations, people don’t need to take any action to get the HST Credits as long as they file their tax returns. When you file your taxes, the CRA looks into whether you qualify for the HST Credit, even if you didn’t earn any income to report.
New residents moving to Canada need to fill out either Form RC66 (if they have children) or Form RC151 (if they don’t have children). Once these forms are filled out and signed, they should be mailed to the Tax Centers.
HST Payment – All We Know So Far 2023
The CRA has sent out HST Payments for July and October. Families receiving the Canada Child Benefit (CCB) may already get the HST Credit. If you’re eligible for CCB but haven’t registered yet, you’ll need to sign up to get the HST Credit for your child.
To do this, log in to your “My Account” and apply for child benefits. Alternatively, you can fill out Form RC66 and send it to the tax center to register for the HST Credit.
